I stumbled on Aldii over at Perfection in Books the other day and found this little questionnaire about one of my great loves, BOOKS.
Audio of physical book?
Physical book. I have tried audio so many times and my focus is just not there.
Paperback or Hardback?
Hardback, mostly. There is a time and place for paperback, but typically I prefer hardback. They just hold up better. And from years working in libraries I have learned that paperbacks are really just throw away books.
Fiction or non-fiction?
Both! It all depends on my mood and the topic. Generally, I prefer historical novels...Then research the topic to the last period. Best of both worlds.
Fantasy world or real life issues?
Fantasy! The real world is all bills, jobs, adulating. The fantasy world is magic, starships, and dreams. How could you not chose fantasy over the real world... When it come to books. In real world issues I prefer to keep things a bit more realistic. I'm not a pessimist, but a cautious optimist.
Harry Potter or Twilight?
Harry potter, of course. I did love Twilight, for a bit, pre hype. It was good, before the critics got ahold of it. It's all pretend, it doesn't have to be perfect and its not meant to be read into.
Borrow or buy?
Well, I work in a library... So BORROW! But I do try to buy my favorites. But who has room for them all, unless you're Belle and who can afford to buy them all. Use your local library, support your community and get free books...We also have DVDs... NEW DVDs. And Music, we get all the new CD's too! (Stepping off my soapbox...)
Monster reads or short & sweet?
Monster reads are great, as long as the author can keep the story up. Sometimes things just need to end. (I'm looking at you YA novels, Not everything needs to be a trilogy.)
Starry eyed romance or full of action?
I. Can't. Stand. Romance. PERIOD.
Curl up in your snuggle or bathe in the sun?
Actually, I prefer to read in the bath. It's perfect, warm, cozy, peaceful and you can get health benefits at the same time. Win-Win!
Coffee or tea?
I am trying to love tea. I really am. So far its a no go though.
